Christmas 2010: Christmas Stocking Traditions and Customs

All around the world children celebrate the christmas by creating christmas stockings as christmas traditions to send the gifts for there entire family. In 2009 also share the christmas traditions tales with your kids and also know why santa delivers huge gifts for your children.

The History

So many different stories argue to disclose how the Christmas stocking tradition came on. Christmas stocking traditions has began in Holland, it has started with dutch children they used to hang their clogs besides the fireplace with feed for the reindeers. In return, Santa Claus would depart goodies for the children.

Further traditions say that St. Nicholas had seen a family with 3 young daughters who were too poor to offer a dowry to get married. So, when the daughters hang their stockings on the fireplace at nighttime to dry up, St. Nicholas had filled with money and coins in them to help out the family.

Santa Claus

Santa Claus is the dearly loved figure who stuffs the Christmas stockings for good little girls and boys. Santa is recognized around the world, but he has the different name and characters depending on the country. In English countries, he might be referred to as Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle or Santy. Others translate Santa as Babbo Natale in Italian, Pai Natal in Portugese, Mos Craciun in Romania and Papa Noel in Spain, to name a few. Whatever santa is called, santa always seems to transport good things and encourage good spirits during the Christmas holidays.
