Christmas 2010: Newcastle Gateshead Winter Christmas Festival in North East England

Newcastle Gateshead starts Christmas festival with winter markets, ice skating, plays, and concerts, with Christmas 2010 festival enchanted parks, glow and the glow mobiles also return.

North bank of the River Tyne in North East England Newcastle located, and south bank to the Northumberland coast and Hadrian's Wall Gateshead is located. For the winter festival, every year these cities offer different activities for entire family.

Open Air Skating
• Saturday, November 8th 2009 to Sunday February 22nd 2010
• Centre for Life, Times Square, Newcastle
Family fun which is opened day and night, with special rates people can make birthday parties and group meeting. The rink is open day and night for family fun. Special rates are available for birthday parties and group outings.

Christmas Lights Switch On
• Thursday, November 20th 2010
• 4:00pm – 6:30pm Grey Street, Newcastle
Brass band and choir from Gosforth School performance these christmas light switch on festival starts at 4:00pm. In this festival famous radio celebrities promote there performance ex: Titan the Amazing Giant Robot plus radio celebrities,and Famous TV chefs, with the Hairy Bikers, will pull the switch at 6:30.
The winners of this competition will receive prizes which include family tickets to see the films in the Theatre i.e, Royal pantomime Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates.

Bergen Christmas Tree Ceremony
• Thursday, November 27th, 2010
• 5.30pm. Civic Centre, Newcastle
Outside the civic center 20-foot Bergen Christmas tree will be located which was donated by the city of bergen, this is a twin city of Newcastle’s. Lord Mayor will inaugurate this annual tradition and then there will be a carol service and music from the entrance of Norway.

Enchanted Parks
• Thursday, December 4th to Sunday, December 14th, 2010
• Saltwell Park, Gateshead
In Enchanted park lots of surprises can be seen, light decoration and sound show with special effects will take place and in winter festival Family events are more popular.

Continental Market
• Monday, November 24th to Saturday, December 6th 2010
In this continental market buying christmas gifts will be useful because these gifts come from Europe and visitors will enjoy food in the stalls which are brought from different countries like Spain, Holland, Germany, France and Belgium.
Winter Christmas Market
• Wednesday, December 10th to Sunday, December 14th 2010
Over 50 stalls provided for local merchants to purchase there necessary needs for the christmas can go and buy at City Centre around Grainger Street, Grey Street, Old Eldon Square and the Monument.

Glow
• Thursday, December 11th to Monday, December 15th, 2010
• Town Walls, Newcastle
The Glow trail which is located in the medieval town walls with architectural light projections will protect from the hidden buildings and unknown residential spaces.

Glow mobiles
• Wednesday, December 31st, 2010
• City Centre, Newcastle
New Year’s Eve art cars will be displayed with light and sustainable power, music and other special effects. Visitors who are attracted with nice costumes will be awarded for best costumes, then the final of this festival will ends with fireworks.

Between My Head and the Sky
• The Month of December, 2010
• BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead
From Sunday i.e, December 14th 2008 to March 15th, 2010 the work done by artist and musicians will display on several locations in Newcastle and Gateshead and yoko ono will be available at enchanted parks.
