Newcastle Gateshead starts Christmas festival with winter markets, ice skating, plays, and concerts, with Christmas 2010 festival enchanted parks, glow and the glow mobiles also return.
North bank of the River Tyne in North East England Newcastle located, and south bank to the Northumberland coast and Hadrian's Wall Gateshead is located. For the winter festival, every year these cities offer different activities for entire family.

In this festival famous radio celebrities promote there performance ex: Titan the Amazing Giant Robot plus radio celebrities,and Famous TV chefs, with the Hairy Bikers, will pull the switch at 6:30.
The winners of this competition will receive prizes which include family tickets to see the films in the Theatre i.e, Royal pantomime Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates.
Bergen Christmas Tree Ceremony

• 5.30pm. Civic Centre, Newcastle
Outside the civic center 20-foot Bergen Christmas tree will be located which was donated by the city of bergen, this is a twin city of Newcastle’s. Lord Mayor will inaugurate this annual tradition and then there will be a carol service and music from the entrance of Norway.

People hang christmas stockings on the fireplace? why you know? From past it was said that Santa Claus threw 3 bags of gold down a chimney of the home of 3 poor sisters. At that time each coins landed inside separate stockings left on the hearth (fireplace) to dry. So know it became a modern tradition to hang stockings there thinking that we might also get the same good fortune.
How to make christmas stockings
* To make a stocking, first check the size of stocking for which you have to make, then take piece of cloth of your stocking size.
* Then fold the cloth into half right from the center.
* Then, draw the shape which you like may be regular or boot-shaped as same as your stocking looks.
* If your worry about making stocking then take an old stocking and printout its same shape on the cloth.
* If you are thinking to look totally different, put little cuff for embellishment.
* Then start cutting out the front and back of the cloth.
* for lining pieces cut out the same shape and size.
* Then decoration purpose use ribbons, lace, trims, bells for front and cuffs of the stockings.
* Then to stitch the stocking take a thread of the same color and sew along front and the back.
* Now, trim and clip curves and then, turn the right side out.
* From the right side sew the lining pieces, after that come to trim and clip curves.
* After that insert the lining inside the shell of the stocking.
* Then sew strip, from outside approximately one-inch wide fabric, and from the top edge it should be around one-fourth of an inch.
* Then, turn the stocking to the inside and stitch down.
* The At last add loop for hanging the stocking.
